Edward Carl Beckman

Edward Carl Beckman, 64 of Benton Harbor died at his home on Thursday January 10, 2008. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral home with Rev. Terry Tessari officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. He attended St. Joseph High School and served our Country in the United States Navy. He was a man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and was just an all around outdoors person. Ed had a passion for reading; he always was at the library and he always had a book. He is survived by his son Ed (fiancee Brenda) Beckman, Jr. of new Troy; daughter Candy Gioupis of Sawyer, MI; grandchildren Brandon Beckman, Alicia, Ryan and Trevor Gioupis; father George Beckman of St. Joseph; three sisters – Betty (Larry) Reichanadter of Niles, Barbara (Leon) Clem of Statesville, N.C., Lynn (Bill) Lawrence of TX; and brother Greg (Bonnie) Beckman of Traverse City, MI. He was preceded in death by his son Brian, mother Ruth and a sister Sharon McKindley.
