Albert's Obituary

Albert F. Pelletier, 84, of Stevensville passed away on December 24, 2007 at home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home. Pastor Anthony M. Fields of Lighthouse Village Church of God is officiating. In lieu of flowers, his family request that donations be made to Hospice at Home in St. Joseph, MI. Mr. Pelletier donated his body to the Anatomic Donor Society at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. His cremated remains will be buried at a later date at the Highland Memorial Park in Johnston, Rhode Island. Those wishing to send the family a message of condolence may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. He was born March 2, 1923 to Andrew and Marie Pelletier. He was married to Lillian E. Hubert on February 8, 1952. He resided in Cranston, Rhode Island most of his life, and after his beloved wife died in 2002, he moved to St. Joseph, MI where he started a new life as the companion of Imogene “Gene” Chester. Al was employed as a District Sales Manager in the hair care field for most of his career, and worked for the Clairol Company and Redken Laboratories. He was a veteran of WW II and served in the U.S. Coast Guard seeing combat in the S.W. Pacific Theater of Operations. He had been a mason for many years, and was a lifetime member of Providence Chapter #1 Order at the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and two brothers, Roger and Louis Pelletier. He leaves a loving companion, Imogene “Gene” Chester, a loving brother Andrew Pelletier and three loving sisters, Loretta Corvese, Cecile Merithew, and Liliane McQuistion. He also leaves numerous fond nieces and nephews. Prior to his death, Al requested the following verse be added to his obituary, “I’m leaving this body which has served one well. To stay in it any longer might start to be hell. I’ve loved living this life it has been rich and fine. Now I’m going for a rest with the truly Divine.”
