Noreen Florence Rosinski, 78, of St. Joseph, Michigan, died after a short illness at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, November 21, 2007. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00A.M., Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church South, 5353 Roosevelt Road, Stevensville. Burial will follow immediately at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation is from 5:00-7:00P.M., Monday, at Starks and Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. The recitation of the Rosary will follow at 7pm. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Those wishing to send a condolence message online may do so in the guestbook at www.starks-menchinger.com Mrs. Rosinski was born Honorah Florence O’Connor in Detroit and is a graduate of Holy Redeemer High School in 1947 and the University of Detroit in 1955. She met her husband of 50 years, Alexander in Detroit and they were married February 16, 1957. She has resided in St. Joseph since 1961 when she relocated here with her young family. She was dedicated to her husband and four children and spent her life in faithful service to her church and community. After graduation from college, she worked as a grade school teacher and then for the Social Security Administration. When her children became school age, she spent many years as a substitute teacher for the St. Joseph Public Schools. She was an active parishioner of the St. Joseph Catholic Church as a member of the Church Alter Guild, Choir, Hospitality Committee, and Ladies Solidarity. She was also an Extraordinary Minister, a Sacristan maintaining the Alter, and CCD Teacher. She volunteered for the Arthritis Foundation and was a Precinct Monitor during local and national elections. Mrs. Rosinski enjoyed playing Bridge with her many friends. She played the organ and had a beautiful soprano singing voice, heard often in Church and as she sang her favorite Irish folk songs with Al and her family. Mrs. Rosinski is survived by her husband, Alexander Benedict, Jr., her children Mary Grace (Roy) Whitley of Annandale, VA, Alexander III (Nancy) Rosinski of Westford, MA, Jean Marie (Eric) Engelke of Sherwood, WI, and Michael John (Mary) Rosinski of Spartanburg, SC, and her Grandchildren Sean Michael and Kathleen Marie Whitley, Brian Alexander, Caroline Lynn, and Margaret Louise Rosinski. She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Mary and John O’Connor of Detroit. She was the oldest of four children and is survived by her siblings Michael (Mary) O’Connor and Kathleen (Tom) O’Reilly of Dearborn Heights, MI, and Caroline Lavey of Northville, MI.
