Grace M. Martin, 61 of Benton Harbor died at her home peacefully on Thursday February 7, 2008 surrounded by her family and friends. A celebration of her life gathering will be held Sunday February 10, 2008 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Club House at Lake Pine Apartment, 2665 Lake Pine Dr., St. Joseph. Arrangements are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home Grace was born on April 5, 1946 in Detroit Michigan to Russel & Grace (Strange) Martin. She attended Dowagiac Union High School. She was the property manager of the Lake Pine Apartments in St. Joseph for over 25 years. Her favorite past time were knitting and taking care of her yard but her true love was her family and her grandchildren She is survived by a son Bill (Chris) Joanis of Eau Claire; two daughters, Missy Joanis of Benton Harbor; Tina (Kevin) Ackerman of St. Joseph; five grandchildren Allie Batson, Austin Ackerman, Matthew, Nicholas & Emily Joanis; a sister Marti Zarek of Benton Harbor; two brothers Russ Martin (Diane)of Cary IL and John (Lynnie) Martin of Baroda.
