Alice R. Wolting

Alice R. Wolting, 88, formerly of Stevensville, passed away Monday December 24, 2007 in Indianapolis. Mrs. Wolting was born February 28, 1919 in Benton Harbor, MI to Henry & Alida (Warnke) Remus. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1936. On October 21, 1939, she married Henry Wolting in South Bend. He preceded her on October 23, 1983. Alice was a loving wife and mother to her son. In her spare time she volunteered for the American Red Cross and was an active member of Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ. Alice also enjoyed watching and playing golf and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Wolting was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband Henry Wolting and one brother Robert Remus. She is survived by her son Elden “Al” (Mary) Wolting of Indianapolis IN (formerly of St. Joseph MI); one sister Mary Spaulding of Coloma; three grandchildren Scott (Adrianne) Wolting of Brownsburg IN, Jeffery (Natalia) Wolting of Avon IN, and Lynn (Doug) Hattabaugh of Petaluma CA; three nephews Robert (Patricia) Spaulding, David Remus, and Ted Remus; and one niece Lee Sadler. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, 3001 Veronica Dr. in St. Joseph with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph.
