Emil G. Yircott

Emil “Bud” Yircott, 92, of St. Joseph, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2007, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Visitation with the family will be held from 2:00-4:0PM Sunday, December 2, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home on Monday, December 3 at 10:00AM. Bud will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Bud was born on October 17, 1915, in Coloma, Michigan. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army Air Corps. He was married to the former Lillian Schalon on September 4, 1949. He was retired from Doubleday Brothers and was a member of the American Legion Post 0163. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillian, his son Jeff (Sarah) Yircott of St. Joseph, and his grandchildren Kevin and Katherine Yircott. Bud was an avid golfer and bowler. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and six sisters.
