Robert E. Veine

Robert E. Veine, 61, of Bridgman, passed away, Monday, January 21, 2008 at his home. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Bridgman. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church. Mr. Veine was born May 15, 1946 in Benton Harbor to Leonard E. & Olga (Schwanke) Veine, Sr. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1964, and from Ferris State University in 1969, with a bachelor degree in accounting. On May 15, 1992, Bob married the former Anna Phares at Grace Lutheran Church. Bob was employed as an accountant at Essex Wire & Cable Company in Berrien Springs, until his health forced his retirement. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming, bowling, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife Anna; his children-Kristine (Ralph) Lucius of South Haven, MI, Sarah Veine of St. Joseph, Roy (Nickol) Henslee of Bridgman, Glenda (Brian) Wiese of Baroda; six grandchildren-Samantha & Brandon Henslee, Bailey Wiese, Lauren Veine, Joshua & Dorian Lucius; his brother Leonard (Joan) Veine, Jr. of Coloma; and his step-mother Olga M. Veine of Bridgman. He was preceded in death by his mother Olga in 1979, his father Leonard in 1999, his brother Gerald Veine in 1997 and his sister marlene Marks in 1999.
