Merrial M. Carlson

Merrial M. Carlson, 86, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday November 11, 2007 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home with Msgr. Osborn officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Merrial our sweet mother, grandmother, and aunt was born December 10, 1920 in St. Joseph Michigan to Adam & Lena (Puetz) Bodjack. She graduated from Stevensville High School in 1939 and on September 14, 1940 Merrial married Evar Carlson in South Bend. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1991. For many years Merrial worked for Ollie’s Annex in downtown St. Joseph and in her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family which she loved so dearly. Mrs. Carlson is survived by one daughter Sandra Colby of Commerce Township, MI; four grandchildren Jeff (Laurie) Colby of Novi, MI, Lisa (Tom) Callahan of Farmington Hills, MI, Brian (Mary Jane) Colby of Ferndale, MI, Lance (Angie) Carlson of Coloma, MI; six great-grandchildren; loving niece Elizabeth (Bette) Ives of Stevensville and her loving family. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son Thomas Carlson; three brothers Herb Bodjack, William Bodjack, Maynard Bodjack; and one sister Katherine Coughlin.
