Mildred's Obituary

Mildred R. Palleschi, 83, of St. Joseph, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at the Willows Assisted Living Facility in St. Joseph. According to Mildred’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family committal service will be held at a later date at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Elks Club or to the donor’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Those wishing to leave a condolence message online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mildred was born on May 21, 1924, in Chicago, IL, to John and Elizabeth (Machacek) Mylnek. She married Loreto Palleschi on December 11, 1943 in Joliet, IL. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2007. Mildred retired as a school bus driver from the St. Joseph Public Schools after 20 years. She and her husband also owned the former Dairy Isle in St. Joseph. She enjoyed her family and especially enjoyed attending her sons’ baseball games. Mildred was a member of the St. Joseph Elks Club and AMVETS. Mildred is survived by three sons, Lonnie (Helen) Palleschi, Schoolcraft, MI, Terry (Joan) Palleschi, West Bloomfeld, MI, and Craig (Terri) Palleschi, Stevensville, MI; and two grandchildren, Susan (Brad) Reynolds and Kurt Palleschi. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Reimer.
