Madonna's Obituary

Madonna Schoenfelder, 82, of Stevensville passed away Monday October 22, 2007, at Caretel Inns of Royalton. Friends may call from 5:00- 8:00 PM Wednesday at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph,. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 25, 2007, at Stevensville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Gordon Barry officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Twp Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospitality House of Kalamazoo or Lory’s Place. Friends wishing to send a condolence may do so at the Guest Book at www.starks-menchinger.com. Madonna was born in Farmland, IN on September 16, 1925 to Martin & Mary (Clear) Hunt. She married Edwin Schoenfelder on January 20, 1945 in St. Joseph, Michigan. She worked many years at National Foods in St. Joseph, Benton Harbor and Niles. She was a member of the St. Joseph Eastern Star, Stevensville American Legion, St. Joseph Elks and the Red Hats at Caretel. Madonna is survived by her daughter Donna (Lewis) Godush of Bridgman; four grandchildren, Perry (Jodie) Godush, Brett (Kimberly) Godush, Amber (Bryan) Topp, Louanne Godush and fiance Jeremiah Phelps; a great granddaughter Madison Godush; a step great grandson Arien Evans; and a sister Barbara Copeland of Bridgman. Madonna was preceded in death by her husband Edwin in 1989; a son Richard Schoenfelder in 1949; and a brother John Hunt.
