Mary M. Seely

Mary M. Seely, 85, of St. Joseph, went home to be with her Lord & Savior, Friday, November 09, 2007 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1965 Broadway, Benton Harbor, with Rev. Paul Naumann officiating. Entombment will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may call from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Mrs. Seely was born March 3, 1922 in Bridgman, Michigan to Herman & Augusta (Rhodes) Mensinger. In June of 1944, she married Louis F. Seely. Mary was employed at V-M Corp. in Benton Harbor for many years, and retired from Heath-Zenith Corp. in St. Joseph in 1987. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she formerly served in the kitchen for various meals, was a former member of the OWLS & the Ladies Bible Hour. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed collecting Teddy Bears & visiting with her family & friends. Mrs. Seely is survived by her son Roger (Pam) Seely of St. Joseph; two grandchildren-Kelly (Albert) Rabago of Cypress, CA, & Rachel (Zac) Bernard of St. Joseph; and by two great-grandchildren-Austen & Avery Rabago. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, eleven brothers & sisters, by her former husband Louis in 1982, and by her daughter Linda McAlvey on May 31, 1998.
