Marian Mosher

Marian L. (Kesterke) Mosher, 85, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 30, 2007, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with Father Bill Jacobs officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation with the family will begin at 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Those wishing to send the family a message of condolence may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Marian was born on August 25, 1922, the oldest child of Frank and Olga (Fellner) Kesterke. She attended St. Joseph Public Schools and was employed at various businesses in the St. Joseph area including Cooper Wells and Heath Company. She retired in 1982 from the K-Mart Corporation in Indianapolis, IN. Marian was a long-time member of the Colonial Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was united in marriage with Ralph S. Mosher on January 1, 1948 in South Bend, IN. In 1962 they moved to Indiana and remained in the Indianapolis area until they retired 1n 1982. After retirement, they moved to Florida for a number of years before returning to Michigan in 2000. Besides her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 2005 as well as a brother Edward. She is survived by her step-son Terry (Darlene) Mosher of Kalamazoo; two grandchildren – Karen (Steve) Ryder of Gobles and Brian (Shellie) Mosher of Otsego; four great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Leona Cutter of Benton Harbor and her brother Donald (Vivian) Kesterke of St. Joseph as well as several nieces and nephews.
