Virginia Koster

The dear Lord took Virginia Koster home to heaven on Monday, October 22, 2007 at the age of 82. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00A.M., Thursday, October 25, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord, St. Joseph, with Pastor Glenn Rosenbaum officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00P.M., Wednesday, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials donations may be made in Lieu of flowers to the organization of the donor’s choice. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Benton Harbor. Virginia graduated from Benton Harbor High School and in 1950 married George Koster who preceded her in 1997. She retired from the Berrien County Health Department after over 30 years of loyal service where she still worked part time and had many dear friends. Virginia loved animals; she loved to “shop until you drop”, and her fashion sense, which she passed on to her granddaughter, continues on. Virginia is survived by her best friend and daughter Debra (Greg) Morton, the love and light of her life, her granddaughter Jenna Morton all of Byron Center, Michigan; her sisters Esther (Don) Davino of Baroda, Martha Watkins of Boco Raton, Florida, Elsie Lemon of Baroda, and Marie (Floyd) Templin of Centreville, Michigan, along with many nieces and nephews and very dear and cherished friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emma and Otto Bandurske; brothers Edward, Leonard, Reinholdt, Emil and Daniel Bandurske; and sister Edith Lingenfelter.
