Kathryne Rose Shane

Kathryne Rose Shane, 45, of Stevensville, MI, formerly of Greenville, MI, passed away on Friday evening, August 3, 2007, at her home surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 8, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI with Fr. Michael McMahon officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph, MI. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00, at the funeral home with the Rosary at 8:00. Memorial donations may be made to St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church for masses in memory of Kathryne. Kathryne was born to Chester “Chet” and Mary (Schumacher) Moy on January 28, 1962, in Bad Axe, MI. She graduated Greenville Senior High School in 1980 and attended Alma College. On November 27, 1982, she married Thomas Shane in Bay City, MI. Kathryne was a homemaker that enjoyed home schooling her children. Kathryne’s family was the most important thing to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She was a member of the La Leche League and she enjoyed board games (scrabble in particular), attending her church, and reading religious materials. Kathryne is survived by her husband, Tom of almost 25 years; children, Phillip (Anne) Shane of Kalamazoo, MI, and Joseph, Christopher, Rachel, David, and Michelle Shane all of Stevensville, MI; mother, Mary June Moy of Greenville, MI; sisters, Paula (Jim) Hurst of Greenville, Lorie (David) Shane of Midland, Mary (Pat) Cadena of Greenville, and Carolyn Jones of Greenville; brothers, John (Karen) Moy of Greenville, and Kevin (Danielle) Moy of Greenville; brothers-in-law, Richard Shane of Hastings, Marion Shane of Kalamazoo, and Robert (Mary) Shane of Portage; sister-in-law, Ann Marie (Otto) Kreuzer of Kalamazoo; nephews, Andrew Hurst of Ada, MI, Ben and Danny Shane of Midland, MI, Michael Moy of Greenville, and Jason and Justin Moy of Greenville; and nieces, Mary Hurst of Whitmore Lake, Sarah Peterson of Greenville, Katelyn Moy of Greenville, and Eyma Jones of Greenville. Kathryne was preceded in death by her father, Chet Moy in 2001; father-in-law, Robert Shane in 2006; and mother-in-law, Martha Shane in 1976.
