Mary Kay Holbert, 82, of Benton Harbor, passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Friday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 Delaware in Benton Harbor. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday with the Rosary recited at 7:30 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to Lake Michigan Catholic Preschool Playground Fund or St. John-St. Bernard Parish. Mrs. Holbert was born June 1, 1925 in Terre Haute, Indiana to James & Catherine (Stipp) Mullen, III. She graduated from High School in Terre Haute in 1943. On October 2, 1946, she married Jack Holbert in Terre Haute. Mary Kay worked for Lakeland Hospital in Medical Records for over 18 years retiring in 2003. Mary Kay was a member of St. John-St. Bernard Parish and the Lakeland Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Holbert is survived by her son Jack (Julie) Holbert of Benton Harbor; two grandchildren William and Rachael Holbert; one brother Joseph (Mary) Mullen of Arizona; two nieces Shawna (Chris) Lawry of Texas: Pamela Maggard of Florida; and one nephew Joel (Chanda) Mullen of California. Mary Kay was preceded by her husband Jack Holbert on June 7, 1984; her brother James Mullen, IV and her sister Geraldine (Mullen) Jones.
