L.V. Bradley

Rev. L. V. Bradley, Sr., 80, of Benton Harbor, went home to meet his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Lakeland Regional Hospital in St. Joseph. A Service of Home Going will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at St. Matthew’s Missionary Baptist Church, 2026 Highland Ave., Benton Harbor with Rev. Eddie Wright officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 A.M. Friday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Rev. Bradley was born February 6, 1927 in Clinton, Arkansas to Nevada & Annie (Mask) Bradley. On October 12, 1946, he married the former Marsue Lake. L.V. was employed at Bendix Corporation for fourteen years before answering the Lord’s Call to the Ministry. Rev. Bradley pastored Christian Light Baptist Church and then St. Matthew’s Missionary Baptist Church, both in Benton Harbor. Rev. Bradley enjoyed singing. He sang tenor for the Union Gospel Singers, and for the Benton Harbor All-Stars, of which he also served as manager. In his spare time he enjoyed working on cars and spending time at his favorite fishing hole. Rev. Bradley is survived by his wife of nearly sixty-one years, Marsue; his children-L.V. (Mary) Bradley of Benton Harbor, Robert Bradley of Atlanta, GA, Nevada Bradley, of Chicago, Emmitt (Tracy) Bradley of Benton Harbor, Edward Bradley of Yorktown, VA, Eric (Gosia) Bradley of Miami, FL, Timothy Bradley & Annie (Edward) Johnson, both of Benton Harbor, Virginia Bradley of Milwaukee, Linda Bradley of Benton Harbor, Vernell Bradley & Joyce Copperwood both of Grand Rapids; thirty-two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by five children-Billy Davis Bradley, Patricia Ann Bradley, Brenda Bradley, Betty Jean Bradley, and Bobby Vinson Bradley.
