Evelyn's Obituary

Evelyn Dorothy Mihalik was taken by angels to her heavenly home the morning of September 5, 2007 while being surrounded by her husband, Albert of 65 years and her daughter, Judith (Arthur) Schmidt. She was greeted by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as her son, Robert Mihalik, her parents Elmer and Louise (Vigansky) Hendrix, her four sisters – Thelma (Roscoe) Johns, Alma (Floyd) Larsen, Edith (Milt) Essig, Ruth (Donald) Mensinger and two brothers – Robert (Florence) Hendrix and William (Jeanette) Hendrix. Mrs. Mihalik was born on October 3, 1918 in Bridgman. She will be truly missed by her family which includes her son’s widow, Carol; grandsons, Steve (Krista) and Scott (Kimberly) Mihalik and grandchildren, Donna, Kimberly and Brian Schmidt. She was blessed with one great grandchild – Makena Mihalik and a special friend – Anne Nedoba. Evelyn was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Stevensville. Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice at Home. Evelyn loved and cared for her family. Those of us who were blessed to know her can look forward to seeing her again in Heaven. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Road, Stevensville with Pastor Gerald Schroer officiating with burial in Lincoln Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 7 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, and also from 9:30 until 10:00 A.M. at the church.
