Patricia Ruth Bodjack Woods

Patricia Ruth Bodjack Woods, 78, of Stevensville, MI, passed away Friday Morning, September 14, 2007, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, September 17, 2007, at 10:00 A.M., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, in St. Joseph, with Pastor Rick Blunt officiating. Visitation with the family will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials in Patricia’s memory may be made to the Riverside Hagar School #6 Building Fund. Those wishing to send a message of condolence to the family may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Patricia was born on August 21, 1929, in Stevensville, MI to John and Wilhelmina Bodjack. She was a lifelong resident of Stevensville and graduated from Stevensville High School in 1947. On December 23, 1950 she married Jack Arthur Woods and together they had 4 children, William, Susan, Michael, and Sally. Patricia, along with her sister Caroline, served for many years as Corresponding Secretary for the Stevensville High School Alumni Association. She was a member of the American Legion Stevensville Post #568 Auxiliary. Patricia volunteered at Hagar Riverside School #6. She participated in Lakeshore Band Parent activities and loved attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Patricia loved playing games including Cribbage and Mahjong. She was a charter member of the Derby Mahjong Club. Pat was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Berrien County Bowling Hall of Fame. She enjoyed listening to Big Band and Hawaiian music. Patricia had an infectious sense of humor and was always know for “a great joke.” She loved spending time with her family. Patricia was loved and will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and by her extended family. Patricia is survived by her children, William Woods of Stevensville, Susan (Lindsey) Mierau of Stevensville, Michael (Yon Hui) Woods of Copperas Cove, TX, and Sally Woods of Watervliet; adopted daughter, Christi Blunt of Watervliet; 5 grandchildren, Hilary, Billy, and Aaron Woods and Jon & Luke Mierau; sister, Caroline Bodjack Rozinski of Stevensville,; sisters-in-law, Barb Pullins and Dorothy( Larry) Klett; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her husband Jack Woods; and by her siblings, Marguerite, Florance, Mary Ann, John, Joseph, and Eugene.
