Mary A. Briggs

Mary Briggs, 72, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, July 13, 2007 at her home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, July 16, 2007 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Animal Aid. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mary was born November 15, 1934 in Independence, Louisiana to Emil & Katherine (Fleres) Danna. She moved to Michigan at an early age and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1953. Mary was employed K-Mart in Benton Harbor before taking employment with Heath-Zenith in St. Joseph, where she remained until their closing. On August 23, 1985, she married Norman Briggs in Stevensville. In her spare time, she enjoyed animals, and traveling on the spur of the moment with her husband Norman. Mary is survived by her husband Norman; her son Tony (Gwen) Doneruse of Coloma; her daughter Charlene (Allan) Burroughs of Three Oaks; two grandchildren-David & Vincent Doneruse; her great-grandson Collen Danneffel; and her brother Joseph “Nick” Danna of Benton Harbor. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her feline companion “Fergie”.
