Ronald N. Humphrey, 66, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away, Sunday, August 12, 2007 at his home in Berrien Springs. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M Friday, August 17, at Fairplain Presbyterian Church, 210 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor, with Rev. Dr. John Munson officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. Ron was a self-employed truck driver for most of his working life. He was also a Berrien County Sheriffs Deputy from 1968-1972, operated Humphrey Upholstery for many years, & Ron’s Lawn & Landscaping. On March 25, 1981, he married the former Carmen Green in Benton Harbor. Ron was a member of Fairplain Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed camping, motorcycles, and most importantly, the time spent with his family. Mr. Humphrey is survived by his wife Carmen; his children-Patricia Lynn (Eric) Burtchett of Merritt Island, FL, Judith Ann (Steve) Olexa of Allegan, MI, Ronald Allen (Kelly) Humphrey of Stevensville, Shelly Samantha Humphrey of Benton Harbor, Elizabeth JoAnne Humphrey at home, Shawnta Marie Rector at home; seventeen grandchildren; his sister Nancy (Tony) Greco of Watervliet, and his son-in-law Harold Lee Hillock of Stevensville. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Maurice & Esther Humphrey, and a daughter Felicia Marie Humphrey.
