George A. Reth

George Arthur Reth, 68, of St. Joseph, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2007. Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Burial will be private. On June 6, 1961 he married Martha Burgess in Cadillac, MI. Together they had two children, Michael and Melody. He worked at Whirlpool as a forklift driver for many years. George loved the outdoors and particularly loved fishing. He was a member of the St. Joseph Mason’s Post 437 since 1972. He was a past member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Eastern Star. George was a dynamic and enthusiastic participant in Mason’s functions particularly in assisting with funerals. It was this that made him feel happy in that “he loved to help people.” George is survived by his wife, Martha; children, Michael of Hollywood, FL; daughter Melody of St. Joseph; and by his 4 grandchildren, Jacob, Nicole, and Zachery Reth and Naomi Cottrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard James Reth, Jr.
