Beverly Jean Block

Beverly Jean Block, 77, of Watervliet, formerly of Benton Harbor and St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at her daughter’s home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Melanie Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Run Cemetery in Scottdale. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Berrien County Cancer Service. At age 16 she moved with he parents, Edward and Mabel (Helf) Ketelhut, to Benton Harbor. On September 15, 1948 she married Kenneth Block who preceded her in death on May 13, 1996. Beverly enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening and working on crafts and puzzles. Beverly is survived by her three children, Katherine Tidey of Watervliet, Ronald (Mary) Block of Stevensville, and David (Suzanne) Block of St. Joseph; a brother, Henry Helf of Coloma, Wisconsin; a sister, Marcia White of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Jonathan Block, Nicole Tidey, Eric Block, and Rachel Block; and many nieces and nephews. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Robert Helf; a sister, Nancy Ingraham; and a nephew, Howard Ingraham.
