SAWYER – Jimmie Dale Hornback Sr., 74, of Sawyer, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2007, at home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to the family c/o the funeral home. Jimmie was born on September 17, 1932, in Pitcher, OK, to A.B. and Clacy Hornback. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a truck driver for many years. He is survived by his children, Jimmie Hornback Jr. of Sawyer, Dale Hornback-Teatsworth of Lawton, OK, Gene Nelson of Benton, AR, Carrie Lesauskis of Phoenix, AZ, Jewel Backus of Niles, and Angela Eldridge of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, John Hornback of Sarcoxie, MO, and Gary Hornback of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters, Shirley Reynolds of Cartersville, MO, and Charlotte Hughes of Meyersville, TX; 12 grandchildren, Heather, Daphne, Vicki, Ila, Carl, Stevie, Tammy, Cushman, Billy, Laura, Amanda, and Lillian; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol; and his second wife, Ila.
