Mark's Obituary
STEVENSVILLE – Mark Allen Clune, 55, of Stevensville, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at home following a lengthy illness.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Coloma United Methodist Church in Coloma, of which he was a member, with Rev. David F. Hills officiating. Per Mark’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home, Coloma United Methodist Church, or donor’s choice.
Mark was born on June 12, 1951, in Petoskey, MI, to Donald and Lois (Drury) Clune. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in St. Joseph and served as an altar boy at the church. He was a merchant marine for eight years and also worked for IPC and Chardon Rubber. He had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to joke with people. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson and was a past member of Riders of Recovery located in Brighton, MI. He also enjoyed spending time with his son, Christian. He was a kind and caring man who would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He also loved animals. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Clune of Stevensville; his son, Christian Clune of Hartford; his stepdaughters, Holly, Tina, and Stephanie; his grandsons, Austin, Vincent, and Devin; his parents, Donald and Lois Clune of Saginaw, MI; two sisters, Linda (Don) Willard of Elkhart, IN, and Lisa (Bill) Lennon of Lansing, MI; his nieces and nephews, Kristie Kederis, Kathy Keith, Kelly Lennon, and Jim Lennon; his ex-wife and special friend, Carole Clune; an aunt and uncle from Cheboygan, MI, and several aunts and uncles from the Detroit area; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mack and Cecile Clune and George and Eula Drury.
