David's Obituary

David Madison “Dave” Reasons, 69, of Stevensville, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007, after a sudden illness. Dave was born February 13, 1938 in Washington, Pennsylvania, son of Madison and Martha Reasons. Dave was well known for his passion for woodworking and designing beautiful masterpieces with his creative and clever mind. Those who knew him will remember him as an entertainer with a love and flare for storytelling. He loved to sing and play his banjo. Dave also loved to cook and his culinary skills were enjoyed by many friends and family. He was a man with a huge heart who took care of others and will be missed dearly. Dave began his career as a high school teacher in Bellbrook, OH. After starting a family he changed his career path to become a chemist and salesman. In 1978 Dave co-founded Alpha Resources, Inc. in Stevensville, with his partner, Phil Lunsford. Together they ran a successful business for 29 years. Dave is preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Linda, his father, Madison Reasons, and his mother Martha Reasons. He is survived by his two sons, David (Deborah) Reasons of Naperville, IL and Fritz (Katherine) Reasons of Battle Creek, MI; two daughters, Melody (Trevor) Ryor of Naperville, IL and Merry Reasons of Denver, CO; his brother, Rob Reasons; and eight grandchildren. A celebration of Dave’s wonderful life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Grand Mere Inn in Stevensville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Those wishing to share a memory or condolences may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
