Jeanine's Obituary

Jeanine M. Norberg, 68, of Stevensville, passed away Thursday, July 05, 2007 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Norberg was born October 25, 1938 in Michigan City, Indiana to Theodore (Ruszkowski) & Dolores (Silakowski) Russ. She graduated from New Buffalo High School in 1956. On April 3, 1972 she married Raymond W. Norberg in Michigan City. Jeanine was employed for twenty-five years as a Surgical Technician at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, until her retirement in October of 2000. She was a professional singer, performing with her husband Ray at many Elks functions, weddings, funerals, and various other events. In her spare time, Jeanine enjoyed music, gardening, ice skating, crafting, classic movies, rooting for the Chicago Bears & Cubs, supporting her husband with his Elks duties, and most importantly spending time with her family. Jeanine is survived by her husband Raymond; two daughters-Janette (Peter) Foley of Tampa, FL, Jeri (Kevin) Bither of Coloma; two sons-Scott Brame of Battle Creek, Douglas (Angela) Brame of Taylor, TX; two step-daughters-Laryl Riley of Westerly, RI, Ingrid Singleton of Pensacola, FL; two step-sons-Raymond Norberg, III of Atlanta, GA, Eric Norberg of Westerly, RI; ten grandchildren; her sister Diane (John) Carpenter of Michigan City, IN; her brother Jan “J.R.” (Joanne) Russ of Boothwyn, PA; and her best friend for many years-Mickey Grish of Stevensville. Also surviving is her former husband Richard Brame of Benton Harbor. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore & Dolores Russ.
