Elizabeth's Obituary

Elizabeth Crans, 82, of Delton, MI, formerly of Benton Harbor, MI, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, in Hastings MI. Elizabeth was born January 1, 1925, in Benton Harbor, Michigan the daughter of Fred and Anna (Shemaschko) Pesko. She owned and operated Riverside Tavern for over thirty-two years. On April 27, 1946, she married Max Paul Ladwig, and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1962. Elizabeth enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and latch hooking. She loved traveling to Las Vegas, camping and fishing in Pentwater. For many years she raised Pomeranian dogs. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Howard (Gale) Ladwig of Delton; her brother, George Pesko of St. Joseph; her sisters, Luba Hook of Watervliet and Annie Mosher of Danville IL; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by a son Larry Ladwig on February 1, 1983, brothers Frank, Mike and Alec Pesko, and a sister Sophia Pesko. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2007 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Dave Gargano officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
