Roberto's Obituary
Roberto Ozuna, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2007, at the University of Chicago Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Friday, April 27, 2007, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles, St. Joseph with Fr. German Perez Diaz officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the funeral home with a Rosary prayer recited at 7:30 P.M. Memorial donations may be made to the family. Friends may send the family a condolence message at www.starks-menchinger.com. Roberto was born to Severo and Gregoria Ozuna on November 2, 1928 in Edinburg, Texas. He married Natalia Martinez on August 21, 1949. Together they had six children. Roberto worked as a farm laborer in Southwestern Michigan most of his life. Roberto enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and enjoyed the sports of boxing and wrestling. The most important thing in Roberto’s life was spending time with his dear wife and entire family. Roberto is survived by his wife, Natalia; children, Armando (Vickii) Ozuna, Marisela Ozuna, Irma Casanova, Sylvia (Pedro) Martinez, Roberto (Katia) Ozuna, Jr., and David (Laura) Ozuna; grandchildren, Jesse (Sarah) Martinez, Armando Ozuna, Alejandro Ozuna, Roy A. Martinez, Chrissy Ozuna, Ruben H. (Morgan) Martinez, David M. Martinez, and Estevan E. Martinez; great-grandchildren, Grace Martinez, Sofia Martinez, and Ruben G. Martinez; sister, Benita Ozuna; and brother-in-law, Marcello Falcon. Roberto was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Olivia Ozuna de Lopez and Elida Ozuna de Falcon; brother-in-law, Jose Ozuna; and grandson, Andres Ozuna.
