Donald Leroy Cooper

Donald L. Cooper, Jr., 45, of Stevensville, passed away doing what he loved on Sunday, June 10, 2007. He will be greatly missed both by his family and by his fellow bikers. A Memorial Service celebrating Donald’s life will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, in St. Joseph with Pastor Larry Olson officiating. Visitation with his family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Donald’s memory may be made either to the March of Dimes or to his family. His passion in life was riding his Harley. He participated in many charitable bike-riding fund raisers including rides for MDA and Toys-for-Tots. He was a member of the Abate Motorcycle Club of Indiana. Additionally, Don loved time spent in his garden raising strawberries, watermelons, corn, and peppers. Most of all, Don cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren and with his favorite dog – Sassy-Roo. Donald is survived by his children, Amy (Nathan) Smith, Cori & Michael Cooper; his step-son, Timothy Getz, Jr.; granddaughters, Lillian and Hannah Smith; mother, Dixie Cooper; his sisters, Lyn (Charlie) Kinnison and Holly Jenkins-Paul; and by numerous friends. Don was preceded in death by his father, Donald Cooper, Sr. and by his brother, Scott Johnson.
