Dolores's Obituary

Dolores R. Reagan, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2007, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 10, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Carl Pagel officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 9, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Dolores was born to Herman and Bertha (Jantz) Klug on October 5, 1928 in Sodus, MI. She married Walter Runge on October 5, 1946. Together they enjoyed farming in Sodus until his death in 1973. Her second husband, Stephen Reagan, whom Dolores married on June 8, 1974, preceded her in death in 2001. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Dee brought smiles to many faces over the years through her hobbies of baking and gardening. She owned Wilbur’s Ice Cream & Sandwich Shoppe in St. Joseph and Stevensville, where she became famous for her homemade ice cream, muffins, and soups. Even in retirement, she continued to sell popcorn at the summer Band Shell Concerts, where she enjoyed visiting with the people of St. Joe for over 25 years. Later in life, she worked at the St. Joseph Lincoln Senior Center in the summer, and enjoyed spending the winter months in Leesburg, FL. While in Florida, she attended St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and she was an enthusiastic choir member Dolores is survived by her daughter, Sharon (William) Warren of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Tamara (Jason) Dreffs and Thomas (Marianne) Warren; great-grandchild, Wyatt Dreffs; sister, Emma Heiden of St. Joseph; and brothers, Walter (Eleanor) Klug of Sodus, Richard (Joyce) Klug of Eau Claire, and Arnold (Clara) Klug of Berrien Center; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Walter; second husband, Stephen; brothers, Herbert Klug, Leonard Klug, and Edward Klug; and sisters, Elsie Bujack, Hertha Andres, Anna Falak, and Helen Russell.
