Ruth Geisler

Ruth Geisler, 87, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007 in Jamestown, Ohio where she had most recently resided. Friends may call from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Saturday, April 28 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the Michigan Diabetes Association. Burial of her ashes will take place at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph along side her husband of forty-seven years, Nelson, who passed away September 21, 1986. On June 17, 1939, she married Nelson Geisler in Benton Harbor. Ruth was employed at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor, retiring as supervisor of housekeeping in 1980. In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed gardening, crocheting and embroidery. She moved to Jamestown, Ohio in April of 2003. Mrs. Geisler is survived by her son Nelson J. (Donna) Geisler of South Haven; two daughters-Donna (Glyn) Owen of Jamestown, OH, Lois (Robert) Hoyt of Benton Harbor; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers-Cornelius Manthe of Falls Church, VA & Daniel Manthe of Grosse Point Farms, MI. In addition to her husband Nelson, she was preceded in death by her brother Arthur Manthe, and her sister Vandeline Thomerson.
