Pauline Louise Blackmer, 84, of Stevensville, passed away on April 12, 2007 in St. Joseph, Michigan.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 11:30A.M., Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Hickory Bluff Cemetery, Stevensville, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pauline’s memory to Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, ATT: S. Gilman, University of Michigan, 300 N. Ingalls, Room 3D05, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-0489 or Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085. Pauline and her husband had retired from Flint to Brutus, and then moved to St. Joseph to be near their son and his family. Pauline Louise Root was born on February 25, 1923, in Winn, MI to Jessie (Richardson) and Bernie Root. Pauline was one of ten siblings, and graduated from Flint Northern. She worked in Seattle, WA during WWII, and married Gordon Dean Blackmer in August, 1946, in Flint, after his discharge from the Navy. Pauline loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed arts and crafts.
Pauline is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gordon Dean Blackmer; son, Gordon Root (Linda) Blackmer; two grandchildren, Lane and Jason Blackmer; sister Joyce June (Root) Moore; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and eight brothers and sisters.
