Evelyn A. Miller

Evelyn Miller, 92, of Benton Harbor, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Lakeland Regional Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Terry Tessari officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service or the Benton Harbor-Fairplain Lions Club. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Miller was born July 3, 1914 in Berrien Springs to Luther & Edith (Storick) Harner. On June 20, 1936, she married Orval Miller. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1991 after 55 years of marriage. Evelyn enjoyed traveling, her favorite destination being Las Vegas. She also enjoyed playing bingo. Most of all, Evelyn cherished the time spent with her family. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter Pat Jenkins of Benton Harbor; her son Bill Miller of Battle Creek; five granddaughters-Cindy (Tom) Williams-Dykema of Holland, Tammy Dollar of Berrien Springs, Cathy (Kevin) Harrington of Three Oaks, Wendy (Mark) Morauske of St. Joseph, Connie (Tim) VanDenBranden of Bellaire, MI; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews-Larry (Bonnie) Miller, Chuck Jaymes, Jim Bachteal, Jon (Lora) Bachteal, Terri (Rick) Schlee, Phil Hough; and ten great nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband Orval, she was preceded in death by two sisters, and a niece Marilyn Bachteal in 2002.
