Dorothy Louise Nitz, 88, formerly of Baroda, died Friday, February 16, 2007, at Countryside Nursing Home, South Haven A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Ken Babcock officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Visitation is from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guestbook online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Dorothy was born August 30, 1918 in Michigan City, Indiana, to George and Grace (Shelton) Miller. On September 14, 1946, she married Herbert Nitz, in Baroda, Michigan. Dorothy was very active in the farming community, the American Legion, and St. John’s Lutheran Church, Baroda. Dorothy is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 9, 1988, and her sister Jean Hermann in 1993.
