Pat was born Sept. 6, 1932 to Raymond and Ruth Carnahan in Illinois. She moved with her family to Michigan in 1967. She was a normal person who didn’t like a lot of fuss. She loved to read and play games on her computer. She loved her Chicago Cubs, and was a loyal supporter her entire life. She had many jobs in her life but her favorite was the last one at “her” ACE Hardware in Stevensville where she worked as a cashier. She often said that it was a job she enjoyed not because she had to go but because she wanted to. There she met many interesting people.
What was most important to Pat all her life was her family. She was a wonderful mother who instilled in her children strength, duty, and love for each other. She was there to help whenever anyone needed her. Her life’s joy was her grandchildren who could do absolutely no wrong.
Those left behind who will miss her everyday are her children, Deborah (Randy) Newboles of St. Joseph, Cheryl (Raymond) Pettke of Buchanan, Robert Scheuermann of Lacy, Washington, and Jerod Scheuermann of St. Joseph; her grandkids, Alaina Pettke, Oran Pettke, Brooke Scheuermann, and Cody Scheuermann; her brothers, Ray Carnahan of New Buffalo, John (Mari) Carnahan of Chicago; and her sisters, Mary (Walt) Anderson of Chicago, Ruth (Tommy) Thompson of Florida, and Barbara (Frank) Modelski of Chicago. Pat is also survived by her many friends in the country, the bowling girls, and her cat Furby.
