Helen's Obituary

Helen Dorothy Ainsworth, 90, of Benton Harbor, went to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday morning, February 20, 2007, at Jordan’s Nursing Home in Bridgman. Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. According to the family’s wishes, burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Jordan’s Nursing Home. She was one of two children born to Albert & Minnie Witkowske. Helen was a 1934 graduate of St. Joseph High School. She went on to get a degree from Twin Cities Business College. She worked for many years at Benton Harbor Awning and Tent Co. as a bookkeeper. Helen enjoyed spending time in her garden and crocheting and was particularly fond of her animals. Mostly Helen enjoyed time spent with her family. Helen is survived by her daughters, Susan (John) Stephens of Stevensville and Jonelen (John) Faher of Manistee, MI; grandchildren, Jill (Dr. Jeffrey) Haag of Traverse City, MI and Peter D. Faher of Portland, OR; great-granddaughter, Katy Elizabeth Haag; brother, Volney (Dorothy) Witkoske of Benton Harbor; niece, Cynthia Cutler of Holland, MI; and by her nephew Charles Witkoske of Benton Harbor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1988.
