Rose's Obituary

ST. JOSEPH – Rose Geib, 79, of St. Joseph, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2007, at The Willows in St. Joseph. A service celebrating her life will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores. Friends may visit with the family beginning one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to The Willows. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Rose was born on April 25, 1927, in Chicago, to John and Fannie (Kappel) Ashley. She married William Geib in 1948 in St. Joseph. He preceded her in death in 2001. She proudly served her family as a homemaker for many years. She was an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph where she frequently volunteered. She volunteered with the school lunch program and was also involved with the Women’s Bible League. She loved to sew and over the years created and donated more than 1,000 quilts to various ministries through the church. She also enjoyed reading and writing letters to her family. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Karen) Geib of Schoolcraft, MI, Bill (Katherine) Geib of Coppell, TX, and Daniel (Debbi) Geib of St. Joseph; and six grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack Ashley.
