Larry's Obituary

Larry Allen Klug, 67, of Benton Harbor, passed away at Lakeland Continuing Care, St. Joseph, MI., on Saturday, December 2, 2006.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stevensville, MI, with Rev. Gerald Schroer and Rev. Ronald Freier officiating. Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda, MI. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 6, from 5:00-9:00 p.m., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Church Building Fund, or to the Berrien County Cancer Service. Larry was born March 12, 1939, in Baroda, MI, to Fred and Anna (Rudowski) Klug. He was a graduate of New Troy High School 1958. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served as an electronics radar technician. On April 22, 1967, in Stevensville, he married Donna Hauch. Larry worked at both VM and Heath Co., as an electrical engineer. He was a long time member of St. Paul’s Church, and enjoyed working with various church groups (Owls and Silver Hammers), and loved attending church bible classes. He was also a volunteer at Lakeland Hospital for several years. Larry enjoyed walks outdoors, listening to music, and watching movies, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, son Michael (Heidi) Klug of Stevensville, and daughter Marcy Klug of Benton Harbor; three grandchildren, Michael, Jr., Sierra and Starra; brother, Dennis (Laura) Klug of Prescott Valley, AZ; sister, Cindy Klug of Bridgman; sister-in-law, Diana Klug of Baroda; 12 nephews and 5 nieces. Preceding him in death are his parents-Fred and Anna, his wife-Donna, and a brother-Donald.
