Hermann Albert Herbstreit

Hermann A. Herbstreit, 77, of St. Joseph, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Washington Ave. Church of God, 4051 Washington Ave, with Rev. Andreas Hannich officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home; 2650 Niles Road. Memorials may be made to Church. He married Erika Hoffmann on September 22 1956 in St. Joseph, Michigan. Hermann was a general contractor and built many homes in this area; he also worked at Zenith as a model maker. He enjoy being with his family and building furniture out of wood. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Erika, four sons- Harold (Edith) Herbstreit of St. Joseph, Bernard Herbstreit of Stevensville, Roland (Lisa) Herbstreit of Ashville North Carolina, Roger (Susan) Herbstreit of Stevensville; six grandchildren Hiedi Herbstreit, Deanna Main, Ben Herbstreit, Brooke Herbstreit, Kyle Herbstreit, Caleb Herbstreit; Five sisters- Hegwig (Robert) Malzon of St. joseph, Herta Meier of St. Joseph, Tillie (Don) Fedor of Stevensville, Elsa Stadelmayer of Indianapolis, IN., Margie (Jerry) Zollar of Stevensville.
