Marjorie's Obituary

Marjorie “Marge” Elaine Kirby, 75, formerly of Pierson, MI. passed away on Monday, November 27, 2006, at Jordan’s Nursing Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, November 30, 2006, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Kenneth Babcock officiating with a private burial to follow in Pierson MI. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation and Berrien County Humane Society. Marge was born October 6, 1931 to Aaron and Lorena Castille Brooks in Athens, AL. She had a heart for country living and took great pride in her passion for cooking. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid handyperson around her much loved hand-built home with whom she shared with her cherished pet companions. She adored crossword puzzles and watching various game shows. Marge also held many trophies and awards from bowling tournaments. Marge’s love and great sense of humor will forever truly be missed by all. Marge is survived by one daughter, Gayle Kirby of Coloma, and one son, Tim Kirby along with Juan Contreras, of Evanston, Illinois; Two sisters, Barbara Speakman of Trumann AR, and Ruby Baldwin of Vincennes, IN; One brother, Horace Brooks of Marked Tree, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Otis, Ottis, and Edward; three sisters, Susie, Lucille and Mable.
