Elizabeth's Obituary

Elizabeth A. Dodge-Waugh, 71, of Benton Harbor, MI, passed away in her home on Friday, December 15, 2006. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, at the Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St.Joseph, with Pastor Larry Nail officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 11:30-1:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Elizabeth was born March 16, 1935 in St. Louis, MO, to Russell and Imogene Fletcher. She worked for many years for the AARP Foundation as an office manager. Elizabeth enjoyed her music which included guitar and singing. She was known for her baking, particularly for her fudge and potato salad. Additionally she loved making frequent trips to Blue Chip Casino and was “very socially gifted.” She also loved her dog, Alex. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Richard Dodge (Jennifer Wilhite) Bridgman, and Kathleen Nelson of Berrien Springs, and Michael Bruce Candy of Minnesota; by her grandchildren, Brianna and Dakota Dodge and Ryan Nelson; her great-granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Nelson; her special friends, Rhonda Young, Jim Weatherly, Harold Ballard, Larry & Dorothy Dodge; and numerous other friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Courtney Elizabeth Dodge; and by her good friend, Betty Weatherly.
