Doris A. Landis

Doris A. (Lucker) Landis, 74, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2006, at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1965 Broadway, Benton Harbor with Rev. Gerald Schroer of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Doris was born to Frank and Adeline (Natzke) Lucker on March 5, 1932 in Stevensville. She married Lawrence Landis on September 9, 1967 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stevensville. Doris retired from Inter City Bank in Benton Harbor, after thirty years of service. She was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church. Doris enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, watching television and spending time with her family. Doris is survived by her brother, Donald (Dorothy) Lucker, Sr. of Stevensville, nephews, David (Heidi) Lucker of St. Joseph, Donald (Laura) Lucker, Jr. of Stevensville and Daniel Lucker of New Troy, MI; and niece, Diane (Ken) Klutts of Bridgman. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and husband Lawrence on September 27, 1993.
