Warren's Obituary

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Warren H. “Bo” Eyerly, only 58 years young passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. Bo was born January 31, 1948 to William and Wanda Conrad Eyerly in Berwick P.A, but was a life long resident of Benton Harbor. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1966 and married his childhood sweetheart, Sandra Rutherford on November 26, 1966. Bo was recently retired from Bosch Braking Systems of St. Joseph where he was a dedicated employee for over 40 years, something he was very proud of. During his years at Bosch he had served as a union steward and vice president of the UAW Local 383. He was always willing to help a fellow co-worker and friend. Bo loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and taking his grandchildren fishing. He was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams included U of M, Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings. He also enjoyed going to the Benton Harbor Basketball games with his nephew, Kevin. For years Bo played softball and will be remembered by many for his home run hits. Growing up in Benton Harbor and visiting the House of David as a child, Bo had developed an interest in reading and collecting books on its history. Bo will be greatly missed by his wife, Sandy of 40 years. Their 3 daughters – Kim (Bo) Elston and their daughters Lexi and Kelli of Benton Harbor; Cherie Steinke and her children Courtney and Bradley of Benton Harbor; and Christy (Troy) Boone and their son’s Derek and Trent of Watervliet. Survivors also include his brothers William “Butch” (Glenda) Eyerly and Larry (Pat) Eyerly and beloved family dog, Goldie. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bo’s love, generosity and sense of humor will forever live in our hearts. The family will meet friends on Thursday, October 12, 2006 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 13, 2006 at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with Pastor Starley Baker officiating.
