Sherry B. Spitzke

Sherry B. Spitzke, 63, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, September 11, 2006 at Jordan’s Nursing Home in Bridgman. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Dr. John Hosler officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 P.M. Sherry was born February 5, 1943 in Benton Harbor to Leo & Ethel (Virkus) Spitzke. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1961, and attended Ferris State University. Sherry was employed by Whirlpool Corp. as a private secretary for many years until her health forced her retirement. She was a member of Napier Parkview Baptist Church where she enjoyed working with children as a junior church teacher. Sherry is survived by her mother Ethel Spitzke of St. Joseph; her brother Grant (Marian) Spitzke of North Liberty, IN; her niece AmyLyn (Rodd) Spaid of Linden, TN; her nephew Mark Spitzke of Ft. Wayne, IN; and two great nephews-Braeden Spitzke & Justin Spaid. Sherry was preceded in death by her father Leo Spitzke on August 5, 2003.
