Margaret Tribble Goode

Margaret Tribble Goode, 100 years old, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon, on Friday, September 15, at Riverview Park Christian Church, 2929 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to Hospice at Home & Riverview Park Christian Church. Margaret was born August 15, 1906 in Shelbyville, Tennessee to Henry & Elanora (Elam) Tribble and moved to Dallas, Texas with her family when she was in her early teens. She married Grover G. Goode on December 2, 1922, a union which lasted 65 years until Grover passed away in 1988. In 1981, Grover and Margaret moved to St. Joseph to be closer to their daughter Mary Jane (Jane) who married A. K. (Karl) Gast of St. Joseph, Michigan. Margaret, a member of Riverview Park Christian Church, was an accomplished vocalist, diver, duplicate bridge player, seamstress, and gardener. Margaret’s daughter, five granddaughters, 12 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous friends feel blessed and privileged to have known and spent time with “Big Nanny”, a great lady. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Jane (Karl) Gast; granddaughters – Margy Gast, Karla Vernasco, Betsy Morse, Mary Rembowicz, and Andie Gast, along with a number of great, and great-great grandchildren
