Florence's Obituary

Florence Louise Krieger, 91, of St. Joseph passed away at her home Monday, November 13, 2006. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00A.M. Friday November 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Father Paul Yeruva officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial of her ashes at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00P.M. Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home 2650 Niles Rd., with The Rosary recited at 6:30 P.M. Florence was born on April 17, 1915 in St. Joseph to Max and Louise (Lawrenz) Voelzke. On August 30, 1935 she married Edward J. Krieger in St. Joseph. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Florence was crowned Miss Bridgman in 1933. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and in her spare time enjoyed playing bingo. Most important to her was her family, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Florence is survived by her two sons Loren (Laura) Krieger of Grand Rapids and David (Norma) Krieger of St. Joseph; 7 grandchildren – Edward Krieger, Julie Taylor, Karen Garrison, Beverly Robbins, David Krieger, Jr., Kathleen Bublick, Stephen Krieger; 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; nephew Michael Voelzke of Kansas; and niece Melanie Tennyson of Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward on March 13, 2005; a granddaughter Loretta Krieger; her brother Edward Voelzke and sister Esther Howarter.
