Lindsey Runge

Lindsey Marie “Cookie” Runge, 13, of Watervliet, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Lakeland Regional Hospital, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or the Humane Society of SW Michigan. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Lindsey was born December 9, 1992 in St. Joseph to Terry & Kathy (Trowbridge) Runge. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and had attended Christ Lutheran School through the seventh grade. She was enrolled this year in the eighth grade at Lakeshore Middle School. Lindsey had participated in school volleyball and basketball, and was currently in the SW Michigan Soccer League, where she played for the last four years. She enjoyed spending time with her teammates and coaches both on and off the field. Lindsey enjoyed animals, especially her rabbit Max. In her free time, she enjoyed kayaking, camping, fishing and swimming. Lindsey, known as Cookie to her family, is survived by her parents Terry & Kathy Runge; two brothers-Brennan & Ryan Runge; maternal grandparents Bill & Helen Trowbridge of Benton Harbor; paternal grandparents Darlene & Hank Wutzke of Stevensville; her godparents Gail Runge & Tim Vergot; and many aunts, uncles & cousins. Lindsey was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Raymond Runge.
