Walter's Obituary
Walt Ishmael of Leesburg, Florida, died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at the age of 71. Walt was born in Riverside, Michigan on January 10, 1935 to the late Walter H. and Adeline Ishmael and was a longtime resident of the Coloma-Watervliet area. He was a 1953 graduate of Watervliet High School. Walt worked for VM Corporation and owned & operated Walt’s Sinclair Station in Watervliet for several years. He was also employed at Whirlpool Corporation, retiring as a laboratory technician. He has since resided for the past 16 years in Leesburg, Florida where he worked as a realtor and a golf course assistant manager. Walt loved being a square dance caller and entertained dancers in southwest Michigan and Florida for 40 years. He also loved fishing and skiing on Paw Paw Lake in Coloma, Michigan. Walt is survived by sons-Walter E. (Robin) Ishmael, Jr. of Watervliet, Tim (Heidi) Ishmael of Coloma; daughters-Jody (Scott) Liddick of St. Joseph, Sara (Todd) Kimberlin of Fruitland Park, FL; brother-James (Kay) Ishmael of Portage, MI; Sisters-Marian (Jack) Teter of Edwardsburg, MI, Francis (Phil) Eddy of Goshen, IN; six grandchildren – Travis, Aaron (Kerri), Teran, Aimee, Ian and Caeleb, and 1 great grandson on the way. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may call beginning at 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of Lake and Sumter Counties or the Moffit Cancer Center & Research Institute.
