Fred's Obituary

Fred Sineni, 91, of Coloma, passed away Monday, January 30, 2006 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware, Benton Harbor, with Fr. William Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, where Liturgical Prayers will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Mr. Sineni was born October 31, 1914 in Chicago to Frank & Josephine (Marsala) Sineni. When he was three years old, the family moved to Coloma, where they operated a fruit farm, which Fred continued to operate throughout his lifetime. He also worked as a custodian for Coloma Schools for eighteen years at Pier School, Eaman School, and Coloma Elementary. On May 29, 1954, Fred married the former Dominica “Mary” Vallone in Stevensville. Fred had attended Coloma High School and was an umpire for Hagar Youth Baseball for many years. Fred is survived by his wife Mary; his son Frank Sineni of St. Paul, Minnesota; his granddaughter Angela Dearman of Three Rivers, MI; three brothers-Sam (Jean) Sineni of Monroe, MI, Paul Sineni of Dowagiac, Tony Sineni of Coloma; three sisters-Nancy Sineni, Rose Ambler, and Ann Kennedy, all of Coloma; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joe Sineni, and two infant brothers.
