Esther E. Neubauer

Esther E. Neubauer, 99, of St. Joseph, passed away on Friday, February 29, 2008, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market Street, in St. Joseph, with Rev. Michael Roth officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Esther was born September 11, 1908, in St. Joseph. She was one of two daughters born to Frederick and Frieda Ladwig. On June 15, 1935, she married Paul Andrew Neubauer in St. Joseph. Together they had two children, Barbara and Frederick. Esther was an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. She sang in the church choir, was past president of the Ladies Aid Society, was active in the Trinity Quilters Club, and was an accomplished pianist. Esther thoroughly enjoyed music and spending time with her family. Esther is survived by her children, Barbara (Roy) Wenzel of Gregory, MI and Frederick (Carolyn) Neubauer of Frankfort, MI; by four grandchildren, Pamela Wenzel, Jeff Neubauer, Becky (Dave) Curtis, and Kurt (Elisabet) Neubauer; and by three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Andrew Neubauer and by her sister, Florence Dase.
